Some say they like to start off the New Year with a bang. Last year, mine began with a Nuclear Blast. In a 15-day time span at the beginning of 2009, my divorce was finalized, my daughter moved away, my husky Kola died, my Father died, my business was at a standstill and I was in a relationship that officially didn’t exist. If there ever was a Dark Night of the Soul, this was mine…and it was hell, to be quite honest. I learned a lot about myself, and a lot of what I learned I didn’t like. I had a choice…to learn from what was happening and grow, or stay where I was and be a victim. I chose to grow…I chose to be honest with myself and see things for what they were.
Here is what I learned…
Each day, we are given a new chance at life, with fresh hopes, fresh dreams, new choices and mercy…LOTS of mercy! The beginning of each new week presents us with 168 brand-new opportunities to create the life we want…and if we don’t, it’s no one’s fault but our own. I discovered that most people are genuinely caring at some level. The outpouring of grace, understanding and prayers I received was overwhelming…in a good way. It served as a lifeline of sorts…along with some special friends who were really there for me in the darkest hours.
I also came to realize that all of it…all that was going on…was a giant mirror, reflecting back to me what was really going on inside me. It was an outward reflection of who I was inside, and boy, what a mess I was! And while some would like to hold me in that space of who I was, I have some great news to share about who I AM as a result of that journey…
I am an overcomer, not a survivor. I am a better person. I have a greater spiritual depth and understanding. I am not defined by what others think of me. I am a romantic with a lot of love to share and receive. I am a single Dad who loves his girls and wants the best for them. I am an artist full of creativity to express the world from my perspective. I am a teacher with something of value to share. I am an entrepreneur who genuinely wants to see his friends and customers succeed.
But most of all…
I learned that I am lovable and am loved. I believe in myself. I deserve good. I will succeed. And it’s all possible because during every one of the 60 minutes in an hour, I can choose differently. Every day I have 24 new opportunities to win. Every week, I have 168 HUGE chances to make a difference. Every year, I get 365 shots of fresh mercy to start out again.
And here is the BEST part…
SO DO YOU! Don’t limit yourself and don’t short-change yourself! It’s all there waiting for your embrace…your choice!
Oh, and now…YEAH…I love my life!
I am SO excited about diving into the New Year! The Holidays are fun and all but I’m ready to get back to doing what I LOVE to do…sharing HOW to use Public Domain content to successfully build your business. And to that extent, there are lots of cool, fun things in store for the coming months.
YES…I have some tricks and surprises up my sleeves (that benefit you, of course)…but that is part of the fun.
Over the Holidays…actually over the course of December…I spent a lot of time thinking about and planning how to move forward into the New Year in ways that would benefit you the most. As I considered a lot of different options, several important ideas came to mind, and I believe you’ll find them to be rather cool! I’ll share the first few with you now.
The first surprise I’d like to share is that I’ve decided to permanently drop the prices on all my best-selling products…more than half. Beginning today, you can now claim your own copy any of the following Public Domain training products at their new, lower price.
The second surprise is, of course, my NEW video series (you can watch Episode One below), where I’ll be sharing the benefits, strategies and tricks of using Public Domain content…and the videos will not cost you anything…zero cost…zero opt-in…zero sales pitch. Just me delivering great content to help you build your online business. The ONLY thing I ask for is your comments and to share them with others you know if they inspire you. That’s it. You will be able to view all the episodes right here on my blog!
That’s it for THIS post…no more secrets just yet, but wait until you see what ELSE I will be offering soon at no cost…you’ll definitely think I’ve lost my marbles (did you see them? They’re round, they sparkle and…). I’ll tell you more about THAT surprise in a few days. For now, however, please know that I am committed to your ongoing success for 2010. THIS is the year for you…I totally believe it!

A few months ago, I offered several of my products at a special reduced rate as a way of saying thank-you for your commitment and dedication to building your business (and your future) using the Proven Content of the Public Domain. The response was overwhelming and many of you LOVED the Bonus webinar series I included with your investment.

The other evening, I was talking to my buddy, Mike Sigers from over at Simplenomics.com and Mike was trying to convince me to come to Kentucky to hang out with him for a couple days down by the lake. Now there’s something you have to know about Mike…he is an extraordinary sales trainer and knows how to sell…he’s a master at it. Needless to say I didn’t have a chance…lol. His pitch was SO appealing and tempting that I couldn’t resist. But then he said something that REALLY caught my attention…
Mike suggested that he and I invite a couple people to join us down at the lake and help them with their businesses. Help them with product creation, blog development, teach them how to sell, create podcasts…whatever they needed. I LOVED the idea SO much that I stopped him mid-conversation so that I could record what we were masterminding about. It’s amazing how things come together. It was a cool call and we started sharing strategies that you’re going to love…oh…and the deal with the lake? YEAH…we want you to join us. Here’s the thing though…we are only going to allow four people join us. I think you better listen to the audio right away, and then check out the details below.
We are going to have a blast! Listen to this!
So here is what Mike and I were thinking…
We would spend pick you up at the airport on Friday, August 21st (you would fly into Nashville, TN), and then we would head back to the resort for the weekend. Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, we would work on your business with you…mastermind, help you create products, blogs, podcasts, etc. You would have full access to both Mike and I for as long as you need it during the time we’re together, so that you would leave with new sales strategies, new products, new websites…whatever you need.
The cost for the weekend is just $2,497, which is a small price to pay considering what Mike and I charge as an hourly rate ($250 – $500 per hour). Oh, and did I mention that includes your room, as well as lunch and dinner? Yep! BTW…I’m also going to include several of my top-end Public Domain packages for FREE for those who join us AND I’m going to have my camera there if you need professional photos shot for your blogs or products.
I hate to tell you this, but here’s the thing…Mike is telling the top people on his list, and I’m doing the same…plus we’re also making this opportunity available to our Twitter friends…so these four spots are going to go super quick!
There is something you need to know about Mike and I…we LOVE to give, give, give to the people we invest in and we’ll share everything we know to those who join us…not to mention that the lake is amazingly relaxing and peaceful! What do we get out of it? A chance to meet serious entrepreneurs who want to succeed in their business. You are the ones we want to partner with and joint-venture with…ao for us, it’s all about helping and building relationships…so if we can do that AND do so in an amazing, relaxing setting, it’s a win-win for everyone!
So here is what our Kentucky Business Getaway includes:
- Transportation to and from the airport in Nashville
- Your room for Friday night and Saturday night
- Dinner Friday night, lunch and dinner Saturday, & lunch Sunda
- Every waking moment with Mike and Tony to help you in your business along with all our skills, know-how, etc. in a relaxing, amazing atmosphere
- Professional photos taken for your blog/products

Here is what to do next…
Click the order button below. Once your order goes through, we will send you all the details you need for the weekend. The dates again are August 21st-23rd, 2009 and the cost is just $2,497. We hope you can join us because we may not do this again!
The other day, I received a message through Facebook from one of my subscribers:
“I was worried because I stopped receiving your emails and your sites are inactive. Any chance you’ll be back soon?”
My response to her is what I’d like to use as a foundation to explain what’s been happening over the past several months… why I “vanished” from the world of the Public Domain for nearly three months. Some of you know the beginning, but I feel that I owe you more details about where I’ve been, why I pulled back from Internet Marketing and what the future holds.
Many of you are aware that a year ago, my Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer. We’re blessed that he’s still with us for another holiday season, but the past few months have been difficult for him with seizures, blood clots, a further degeneration of his speech and ability to walk, etc. Also, in September, my wife and I filed for divorce…it was a mutual decision but it still was what it was…with stretching financial responsibilities, relationship adjustments, emotions…you know how it works….
And so, my divorce and all the changes associated with that, the loss of close friends (because of divorce) and my Dad’s struggle with deteriorating health from the brain cancer really put me into a bit of emotional overload, to be honest. So much was happening all at the same time that I had to pull back everywhere I could… kind of like a dark night of the soul. Of course, we all go through them…I’m sure you could tell me stories…perhaps much worse than my own…but the thing I discovered is that you don’t know how you will respond in situations like that until you go through them. For me, something had to give and I honestly felt like just walking away from everything (as you can obviously tell). I lost my drive and passion for business…creativity stopped, I could think of anything to write about…and I came to the point where it had to be family (and me) first if I would ever have a chance at coming through all this stronger and wiser. So I unplugged almost completely. During that time, I also did not respond well to e-mail, if at all, my customer service was been extremely slow, I stopped e-mailing everyone on my lists, and I neglected friendships and business acquaintances that I had been nurturing and were (and still are) important to me. I’m not happy about those areas of failure…I can only offer apologies and a new commitment to get things back on track and improve the areas I allowed to slip. It wasn’t my intent, but it happened none the less.
During that time, I had a lot of amazing support from friends and family, and from friends in the IM community. There are a few people that I owe a deep debt of gratitude to for their amazing support and friendship over the past few months. Whether they realize it or not, they’ve been lifesavers to me. I want to publicly thank my close friend, Ed Owens and my business partner, Marsha Blessing for their encouragement and listening. I also want to thank Jim Edwards, David Hancock, Warren Whitlock, Rhea Perry, Donna Fox, Ben Mack, Eric Farewell, Lynette Patterson and a few other IM friends who were also lifesavers for me…more than they know. Thanks to them, I’m still in business and am excited to move forward again! My Twitter friends have also been amazing with encouragement, friendship and prayers…if you’re not on Twitter, you’re missing an awesome community of people who care (you can follow me at: http://www.twitter.com/tonylaidig). So, thankfully, it appears my “Dark Night of the Soul” is coming to somewhat of an end…and I’m glad.
So that’s been the past three months…
Things are beginning to return to normal now (except for Dad’s health)…I’m getting adjusted to single life after 21 years…although, with my ex-wife moving 4 hours away next week and my youngest daughter moving with her, there will still be some adjustments. Plus…because I can’t have pets at my new place, my husky, Kola, is also moving. I do visit Dad everyday though and it’s been great to “be there” for him and Mom.
Over the next few weeks, there will be a number of changes in my business in an effort to get everything updated and back on track. I’m in the process of updating all my websites with new, current contact information so that it’s easier to get in contact with me. I’m moving away from all my old e-mail accounts (mostly due to ongoing server issues) and creating new e-mail accounts for interaction. I’m moving several sites to new servers and autoresponders, as well as updating outdated websites and more. I’m also updating my customer support help desk to make it clearer and easier to use and will be responding much more quickly to those needs as well. And the best news of all is that I’ve been writing again and will be blogging and releasing newsletters on a more regular basis…yay!
I also have some new products planned that I’m extremely excited about. Some have been in-process for a while, like Info Gold Extreme (which should be ready by the end of January, along with some new ones you don’t know about just yet…grin. Over the past few weeks, I’ve also identified and tested some new Public Domain research strategies that are very cool and VERY effective. I’ve been finding some of the best, most amazing content in my entire career in the past few weeks, and I’m going to tell you exactly how I did it! Watch for that report in the next week or so!
Lastly, I wanted to do something for the Holidays…something special that I haven’t done before as a way of saying “Thank-You” for the past year of friendship and exploring the Public Domain together and to say “Hello!” again! So I pulled together a bunch of FREE gifts for you as well a couple special offers on some of my most popular products to help you leap into the New Year with new ideas and opportunities.
Back in the office after a whirlwind weekend at Ken McArthur’s Impact Bootcamp where we learned about and put into action the powerful ways we can use the different streams of Internet Marketing to get our message to the masses and make a huge impact. The project that was launched as the focus of our efforts was to raise awareness and funds to fight teen suicide…a vital message that is the passion of Deremiah…using every means of media, including Publicity, Motivation, Publishing, Internet, Newspapers, Television, Magazines, Social Media, Corporate Sponsorships, Non-Profit Sponsorships and Joint Ventures. It’s a powerful, ongoing project that is literally going to save the lives of many, many teens. This is what marketing is really all about…making a difference in the lives of others.
The Impact Bootcamp was a bit of a defining weekend for me personally as well. I always enjoy spending time with friends, many of whom spoke Saturday, including Carrie Wilkerson (the Barefoot Executive), Donna Fox, Warren Whitlock and Mary Mazzullo. I love these guys (and gals) and we had a blast together. If you’re not following what these amazing marketers are doing, you need to be. Each one has changed my personal and business life and they can do the same for you as well.
I also re-connected with my marketing friend, Kim Burney, who I met at Pat O’Bryan’s UnSeminar5. Kim is a mover and shaker. She takes action (A LOT). I like that. At any event, there is always the new friendships and networking that happens, and this event is no exception. Many of my “new” friends and marketers, I actually had already “met” thanks to Twitter, so it was cool to see the people behind the posts.
If you’re wondering why I’m talking about who I connected with at the event, it’s for a good reason. If you really want to succeed in whatever you’re doing, you have to build relationships. Business is ALL about relationships. That’s where the JV’s come from…that’s where the brainstorming and mentoring comes from. You NEED to get to events! AND you need to Twitter. You can follow me at www.twitter.com/tonylaidig.
I loved meeting Ken McArthur. It was my first time at any of his events and I was blown away by the largeness of his heart. He cares…a lot. It was evident. Even last evening after the event was finished, he made sure he was available to talk with everyone who wanted access to him. You could literally see his passion for people in his eyes. More marketers need to follow his example.
There were two highlights from this weekend that really impacted me. The first was listening to and meeting Brendon Burchard. As I listened to him speak on Sunday morning, his love of life and passion to make a difference in the world around us really affected me at a deep level that I don’t think I fully even understand yet. Even now, just writing about it, tears are welling up in my eyes and I’m not even sure why…that’s what I mean. Brendon has an amazing message that I’ll write more about from my notes at a later time. Meanwhile, do yourself a huge favor and buy his book, Life’s Golden Ticket. It will challenge you personally and professionally in ways that will make your life soar.
My second highlight from the weekend was getting to spend more time with my good friend, Simone Blum. Simone is an amazing girl, originally from South Africa. We met at Pat O’Bryan’s UnSeminar 5 event as well (seeing the pattern? Get to seminars!) and immediately hit it off. She’s totally new to internet marketing (4 weeks and counting) but she has already taken more action than many people I know who have been at it for years. Simone is a rising star and you’re going to want to pay attention to her. You should definitely follow her on Twitter (www.twitter.com/simoneblum) as well! As a part of Simone’s ongoing experience of learning Internet Marketing, she is going to begin blogging daily all her experiences, frustrations, triumphs and setbacks from learning the processes. As she works through learning about autoresponders, she’ll write about it. When she gets her webpages up, she’ll write about it. She has a passion to bring everyone who is struggling to be successful online along with her as she learns, and it would serve you well to pay attention. You can find her blog at www.simoneblum.com.
I’ll finish this post with a photo that, appropriately enough, pictures me with the two individuals who impacted me the most this weekend, Brendon and Simone:
Well…Pat O’Bryan’s UnSeminar5 is officially in the “can.” Eric Farewell summed it up best on Twitter this morning: “#US5 was absolutely Epic!!” Incredible teaching in the room…incredible JVs in the restaurants at night…and some really tasty margaritas! If you were not at this event, you missed something truly special.
In the next few days, once I get back to the office, I’ll be posting some summaries and photos from the weekend. Hats off to Pat O’Bryan for a spontaneous, organic event, along with Dr. Joe Vitale, Ben Mack, Dr. Scott Lewis, Donna Fox, Simon Leung, Eric Farewell, Craig Perrine, Bill Hibler, Erica Douglas and myself. My life is MUCH richer from getting to know these amazing speakers better.
I’m also deeply blessed by getting to know Betsy (thank you for your humble spirit), Hunter (for a seamless behind the scenes), Simone (great, special conversations…until the next time), Mindy (Loved our dialog), 20/20 (need to get to know you better, man)…wow!
More to come…along with some NEW Public Domain strategies.
I’m here in San Antonio, TX at Pat O’Bryan’s UnSeminar5 event with a packed room and terrific networking. I’m learning to love San Antonio…the Riverwalk is amazing! If you want to succeed online and you’re not going to events to network, you’re missing the boat. Pat’s events are a terrific place to do just that!
What’s really cool is that, while I’d like to think that I’ve thought of every type of product that can be created with Public Domain content, I’ve learned of several new strategies this weekend that I’m implementing myself when I get home…sweet!
